We need to have the bad in order to have the good
Those words have been in my head a lot this week. Every day has been pretty hard with the work so far. There have been multiple doors that we knock and then they quickly turn off their lights. Or they close their curtains fast. Or they open the door, look at us, then quickly close it. Pretty blunt rejections ill say. Every time it happens I turn around and my jaw drops like this 😧. Its kind of hard at times to feel a sense of belonging in this harder area.
Well, this week there were 3 big spiritual experiences that I would like to share with you all.

Last Monday,
It was a cloudy cold day and we traveled a ton for PDAY. We made it back to our town very late due to travel issues. It was an L. We went out to knock our doors. In the mission we need to stay out in the streets until 9:30pm then you can go home. Well it was 9:26 and after lots of rejection and cold we were considering to start walking home and just go to bed.
Well, we turned around and there was a house with lights on. The front door was open and you could hear the TV playing. We said "lets do one more house" so we did. We did our little "allo" at the front gate to get their attention and slowly but surely a man (about 40 yrs old) with crutches and a broken leg crutches over to the gate. He opens his gate and not only listens but asks questions. He asks about Christ and if there is a plan for his life. I was able to assure him that God knows him personally. I told him that God knows your thoughts, problems, sins, pains, joys and sorrows. He is always here for you and has open arms. He began to cry. He said before we came he had a weird feeling. We told him we felt the need to knock his door too.
The lesson went really well and was honestly a miracle. After the long hard day, we got a sign from God that our efforts aren't going to waste. We have a purpose!

The activity,
We were walking by the feilds of grass on our way home from lunch. Sweating, hot, overstimulated (it was a long day) and Oscar in the distance yells "hermanas!!!" With a big smile. We walk over (almost run because we are happy to see him) and he tells us,
"I read the chapter in the Book of Mormon that you told me to!" With such a glow on his face. Oh. My. Gosh.
We invited him to the activity we were planning that night. A ward Family Home Evening game night. And he came!! Even though he is supposed to be on bed rest for his broken leg, he came and met so many great people from my ward. He participated in the game and even got everyone laughing with his jokes and his funny dog slipper he wears on his broken foot. It was so incredible to see him light up with the gospel.

Come on in!!,
We knocked a door we felt drawn to and a mother comes out. We told her that we are missionaries and she opens the door then says
"COME IN COME IN!! HOW ARE YOUU???"
And then I walk right in. Now its not every day that someone tells us to come in with a big smile and a hug. After we went inside I said
"Do you know the Church of Jesus Christ?"
"Yes! But I haven't been visited by missionaries for 15 years now! I went to girls camp and was super active until I got married"
Basically she gave us a ton of treats and trusted telling us about a lot of her personal trials. We gave her a book of mormon because she didnt have one anymore and invited her and her daughter to read it together.
I am honestly so honored to wear my name tag every day. I have the name of Jesus on my chest and its almost a like a golden ticket. This lady who happened to be a member of the church invited us in without a single doubt. After years of inactivity she knows she can trust the missionaries.

I saw many miracles this week and I'm very thankful to my Lord for that.
Since I just gave three happy stories I gotta remind you that its not all fun and rainbows. A bird pooped on my head and I had to emergency go home and take a shower. That was pretty bogus.
A question was asked in church
"Do you see more of the problems every day or more of the blessings?"
Made me think that we really do need to look more at the blessings every day. Even if a bird pooped on my hair, at least I have a chance to go wash my hair mid-day! Blessings
Take care!
