Mi familia explotó en un volcán

Image
Sunday district B6 polaroid Would you rather have a pocket that fits infinity ammount of things OR know every single language in the whole world? Hola! Apologies for the title, we learned how to say "my family exploded in a volcano" in spanish. We say it all the time now. I like this green couch Another fun week in Mexico! All of the older missionaries have left the training center, my group is now the Senior class. Its my last week here until I fly to Santiago Chile next Tuesday. It is surreal that this time next week I will be out on the streets. I am the most excited.   My district leader said that in their district council meetings they ask "so how is your district doing?" And he says every week "THEY'RE PERFECT" then the council says "WE KNOW". I got very lucky with my friends and we are sad to leave eachother for sure, but excited to bring people unto Christ. Mexico City Temple handrail! they changed my mission to Jerusalem Every person...

Push week, no dilly dallying

I can fold a fitted sheet now. Holy Hannah! (Yes you Hannah Carpenter)  In the training center we do a service job every Thursday somewhere on campus. This week we did the laundry room! That means folding billions of sheets. Yes yes you heard correctly, I can fold a fitted sheet now. Once you have all the sheets folded, you stuff it into a tiny pillow case and chuck it across the room so that the other missionaries can store it away. All of my friends decided to "nuke them". Instead of continually throwing one by one we loaded up all of them and chucked them all at the same time. It was really funny.  ma and hna hawkins There is so much hype around Ultimate Frisbee here. If you dont know, its like football frisbee. I was uniterested in playing till my district said "It would be so much more fun if you joined. You have to play with us". So duh I played. And it was so fun! Im hoping to master it by the end of my time here so I can play against my hometown friends on...

Chicken Bake

Image
You guys.Costco Chicken bake day in the cafeteria! Ohhh my! Hermana Hawkins and I locked ourselves out of our apartment TWICE. Most recently at night. We ran across the whole MTC campus (in my checkered pink matching PJs), no tags on, in sandals and went to the reception desk. Right as we walk into reception PRESIDENTE RUIZ AND HIS WIFE and all the presidency are standing there. The most shameful moment. Hawkins and I say "lo siento" and book it back to our apartment with the master key. Nobody stoned us so I think we are good. Dreams are movies for missionaries. Every morning at breakfast I say "okay everyone. What crazy dreams did you have last night?" For entertainment purposes "I dreamt Hermana DelHoyo stole something and got in so much trouble"  -Clifford "I dreamt Hermana DelHoyo and I were in a murder mystery and DelHoyo was the murderer" -Hawkins "I had a dream Hawkins was listening to secular music and I didn't say anything at a...

Lighning McQueen en Español 2/5/25 Hola hola! I am alive in la Ciudad de Mexico Missionary Training Center! Learning tons of Spanish and hating the conversion of dollars to pesos. 1 dollar is 21 pesos? Who decided that?  My companion is Hermana Hawkins from Utah. She plays volleyball and loves to match everything with me. We are both going to Chile Santiago Norte together! She and I don't know how to say socks in Español so we say feet clothes.  Here is my district Left to right Hermana DelHoyo (artsy photographer) Elder Gearheart (Georgian southern cowboy) Elder Blodgett (thrifty Idaho guy), Elder Woolstenhulme (band kid from Virginia) , Hermana Hawkins (volleyball master) and Elder Clifford (on BYU football team). We are all so different from each other, and we are all BEST FRIENDS! We are lucky enough to have the new CCM president! Presidente Ruiz. He is super cool and says we will be better at Spanish and english than him Mexico CCM is the most beautiful campus. I am alrea...
